The Return of Roddy Ricch

Finally, new Roddy Ricch!

Though his career is still young, it feels like forever since we’ve gotten some new Roddy Ricch music.  However, per his latest and only Instagram post, Roddy announced a new single coming at midnight!

The caption reads “6/4 Freak Friday [moon emoji].”  The track is called ‘Late at Night’ and is produced by Mustard.  Last time we saw the two of them connect, we got ‘High Fashion,’ so the hopes are fairly high for this new song.  Additionally, Roddy is also debuting his new look.  No longer sporting his recognizable puff, he is now rocking a short fade.  Usually when an artist switches up their look, their musical style follows, and that’s what Roddy is doing.

“I’ve got to bring them into my life a little more”

For his upcoming LP (date unannounced), he wants to bring fans “back to basics” and make a new sound.  Roddy had a generously sized fan base before, given that his debut album, ‘Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial,’ went#1 immediately.  However, with his recent popularity, he has has scores of new fans that only know his newest work.  His overarching goal with the upcoming record is to bridge the gap between both of his fanbases.  Being quiet on social media, Roddy’s mission is to paint the picture of his life more clearly through his music so his listeners can get to know him better.

With the success of his debut record, Ricch’s next album is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated in all of Hip-Hop, maybe even in all of music.  Given his range of talents, Roddy has among the highest potential to own the 2020’s.  With such widespread support, there’s no doubt he finds commercial success with this release, but that’s not the entire goal.  Despite his rap name, its clear that critical acclaim and pleasing the fans is far more important to him.

Roddy has a big year ahead.  He’s headlining festivals, touring, and has an upcoming LP that just about any pop and rap fan is awaiting.  It all starts at midnight, let us know what you think of ‘Late at Night,’ though we’re sure we already know the answer!
