The Weeknd recently went to social media announcing that he is postponing his 2021 tour, but not for the reasons most expect.
The Gift of The Weeknd
According to The Weeknd he wants to do something special for his fans. The measures he is taking require him to cancel his tour plans once again, however not indefinitely. According to Complex, this is what he had to say to his fans,
“Due to constraints of arenas and the demand for more shows, I want to do something bigger and special for you which requires stadiums,”
Basically, The Weeknd is canceling so that he can bring a bigger and better show to his fans.
What happened in 2020?
Originally the “After Hours” tour was to take place in 2020. But, because of the worldwide pandemic, the tour was pushed back. The tour was rescheduled to June of 2021. Which The Weeknd told his followers, “See you when it’s safe,” And as we all know, that was not to be, either.
No reason for dismay
In fact, there is still much to anticipate.
The new tour which is now being called the “After Hours Until Dawn Tour,” will be happening. Although there are no exact dates, tentative dates are forthcoming for the summer of 2022. For fans who were planning to see the tour at arenas refunds will be issued. And according to Complex, those who held tickets will be given priority for seeking seats for the future tour dates
