Several sources are reporting that the Wu-Tang Clan has teamed up with Xbox game studios. They have a new video game in the works. I’m sure that this is good music to the ears of the group’s fans. The claim first came about a few days ago from video game reporter Jez Corden on the Xbox Two Podcast. According to Corden, he received reports of the project a few months ago. Another video game reporter named Jeff Grubb said that he had received the same information.
Details of The New Wu-Tang Clan Video Game
According to reports, the game’s working title is “Project Shaolin,” and it’s in its early stages. It will be a third-party fantasy action RPG (Role Playing Game) that emphasizes melee combat. The game is anime-inspired and is based on Wu-Tang Clan lore. Four players will be allowed to play at once. The Wu-Tang is set to create an original score for the project and will also compose the soundtrack.
The Group’s Previous Video Game Projects
This will not be the group’s first time working on a video game project. In 1999, the iconic rap group released Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style, a kung-fu fighting game for Playstation. In 2003, Method Man and Ghostface Killah appeared in Def Jam Vendetta. They also appeared in the 2005 sequel Def Jam: Fight for New York. I’m sure their upcoming project with Xbox will bring about the same excitement and pleasure for gamers and fans as their previous ones did. According to reports, the launch of the Wu-Tang Clan’s forthcoming video will likely include seasonal content; however, there’s no release date yet. I guess we will have to just keep an ear out for updates.
