TikTok star Danielle Cohn is facing Backlash for stealing Ashanti’s hit song “Foolish”.
On Friday, Danielle posted a TikTok promoting her rendition of the early 2000’s hit.”Make a TikTok to my new song “, Danielle said to her 18.3 million TikTok followers. The song has been available on popular streaming platforms since September 4th. Danielle also began to sell Merchandise on her website promoting the song.
Ashanti’s Fans immediately took to social media to express their disapproval.

Danielle has since denied the claims that she stole the song calling it “a cover”. ” Do people not understand what a cover”, Danielle said via twitter. The song has been available on popular streaming platforms since September 4th.
On Wednesday, Jennifer Archambault, Danielle’s mother, responded to the backlash about Danielle’s rendition. Jennifer took to Instagram to defend her daughter’s song.
” We got a license and went about the right way and Ashanti and her team will get their royalties”, Jennifer said in an Instagram post that has since been deleted.
Ashanti has not made a statement confirming the truth behind the song.
