Travis Scott (@travisscott) is one of the most renowned rappers in the game, as well as Future (@future). But when rumors arose that a Verzuz (@verzuztv) battle could be in their near future, fans started taking sides, and it seems as though Future is the popular pick.
Timbaland‘s manager recently spoke about the possible face-off in the Verzuz arena. Many think it unfair to put Scott and Future together because, although Scott is great at what he does, Future has a wide catalog that is hard to compete against. Hendrix has mixtapes, albums, and several projects behind his belt. As usual, fans took their thoughts to twitter with memes and roasts.
Others commonly suggested that Future and Young Thug, the Super Slimey duo, would be a better fit.
Verzuz Keeping Quarantine Interesting
For those of you who are unfamiliar, Verzuz arose in 2020 during the pandemic as an online webcast series that serves as DJ battling through Instagram Live. Produced by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz, the series invites two music icons, mostly from R&B or hip-hop genres, to face off. Recently, they partnered with Apple Music and Twitter to integrate better audiovisual capabilities and social engagement. Ciroc, the alcohol brand, also sponsors them.
The 2 most watched battles are Jeezy vs Gucci Mane and Brandy vs Monica, with both over 1 million views. The next battle of Season 2 will be Ashanti vs Keyshia Cole, taking place this Thursday, January 21st.
