Today, Sony announced that rapper Travis Scott (@travisscott) has teamed up with Playstation as a ‘strategic creative partner’. What this means, we’re not exactly sure yet.
Apparently, Scott and his brand Cactus Jack (@cactusjack) will worn on ways to “produce innovative projects that we hope will delight our collective fans” for Sony’s upcoming Playstation 5.
The black and white short video released features individuals that helped with the creation of the new Playstation, as well as Scott himself in front of a huge gaming console.
Sony revealed that they reached out to Scott after learning that we was a huge Playstation fan. Following this unique partnership, Scott released a statement saying:
“I’m really looking forward to being able to showcase everything that Cactus Jack has worked on with Sony and the PlayStation team. Most importantly I’m excited to see how the PlayStation fans and family respond, and I look forward to running some games with everybody very soon!”
Scott’s Other Collaborations
The American rapper has started several other partnerships this year with big companies. His ‘Travis Scott Happy Meal’ at McDonald’s marked the first time in 30 years since a celebrity’s name was listed on the actual menu. He also worked with Fortnite to create a series of look-alike downloadable add-ons and a live game-in concert of Scott performing.
Furthermore, it was suspected that Scott collaborated with Elon Musk when the unreleased Tesla Cybertruck and Cyberquad ATV were shown last December in a music video for his album “Jackboys”. It is unclear how Scott got his hands on the vehicle because Tesla never responded to Business Insider’s request for comment.
