Travis Scott’s “The Plan” To Be Featured On Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet”

Travis Scott surprised fans over the weekend by dropping a new track entitled ‘The Plan.’  The song allowed for Scott to tap into a new creative lane, that being soundtrack writing, Travis Scott’s new song to be featured in upcoming film Tenet, directed by Christopher Nolan. This film, as can be viewed below in the trailer, is a sci-fi action thriller in which follows the life of a man who’s lost his wife and how he deals with his overwhelming amounts of grief.

Nolan is a British-American film director whose work ranges from the likes of The Dark Night Trilogy to Inception amongst countless others.

In an article for Rolling Stone, the film’s composer, Ludwig Göransson selected Travis Scott specifically to be on the soundtrack as he felt Scott had a certain voice and ambiance that would just fit the grand scheme of things.

“When I watched the movie in its entirety, I started to feel that the end needed a new voice to reflect the culmination of the journey we’ve just experienced.  The first artist that came to mind was Travis Scott.  Conceptually, his artistic voice is very much in step with the sound palette we’d created for ‘Tenet,’ and I felt that he and Chris might almost be kindred spirits when it comes to creating fully realized worlds with music and visuals.  Travis instantly connected with the movie, and his observations of the experience were exactly what Chris was looking for. I sent him the beat and sounds, and he started to work on a song building around that material.  Travis nailed it—he did indeed create the missing piece of the puzzle.”

Göransson and Scott came together and were able to use both of their musical geniuses’ to create a unique sound crafted especially to the theme of the film. With Scott’s harmonizing on the dramatic syntax beat, it allows one to create their own mini image in their head of what sort of scene this song would fit. To us, it was giving a dramatic chase or some sort of chaotic escape.
