Today Atlantans on the hip hop scene got some distressing news as headlines read, “Trouble dead at 34.” And just like that, Atlanta loses one more bright light. So today, grief runs deep, and moroseness hangs like a heavy cloud.

Who is Trouble?

The dead artist, Trouble, is an Atlantan hip-hop artist with a deep passion for rap. The dead artist’s real name is Mariel Orr, who also carried the moniker “Skoob.” However, Trouble was no new flame in the hip-hop industry. Trouble has been on the scene for a while. But it was in 2011, that he began seeing some elevation in his career with the success of “December 17th.” And he kept plugging content.

“Every release since then has cemented Trouble as one of rap’s most earnest and authentic voices.”

And that is an honor that solidifies a lasting legacy. His most recent release in 2020, “Medusa,” featuring Jeezy, proves that true artisans keep going because it’s in their blood.

Putting People On: Trouble Was a Beast

Although he wasn’t amongst the most well-known in the global hip-hop landscape, those who knew him knew him well. He was no stranger to the craft of putting his craftmanship to work. After his debut, he would release eight albums and four singles.

“Some just hearing him he was new. However, with eight solid mixtapes, he’s a seasoned veteran to those who rocked with him.”

With over 90 credits under his belt, his impact on the hip-hop scene is undeniable. He had a presence, and his solid body of work is proof of his commitment and passion.

A Sad Day and Heavy Hearts

It is always a shock when the talented die young. Skoob’s passing was no different. His ex was one of the first to confirm the artist’s death on a social media post. Her disbelief was evident. However, she would not be the only one to hop on social media to express their grief over the tragedy. Bow Wow also took to Instagram to express his sentiments over the loss.

“Trouble was my dawg! Pulled up anywhere I was at didn’t care if it was last minute he was there. I can’t believe this…What is going on man! “

Today the world poses the same question.

No Specifics on Trouble’s Death

There is yet to be a definitive report of what went down. However, it is alleged that the rapper was gunned down while in his car. But the investigation is ongoing. And no matter the cause, it doesn’t lessen the sting.

Too Many Die Young

One thing is sure, the deaths among the youth have become too prevalent. In 2020 Rapper Lil Marlo was gunned down at the age of 30. In February of this year, young drill rapper Chii Wvttz was found dead at 18, also from gun violence. And today, the world mourns once more over a life cut short. Skoob’s final words are a sad refrain, sending out another tragic and sobering reminder life is much too fast.

“It’s toooooooo many 12 of for me tonight IM GOIN HOME Yall move smoove outchea.”

Today condolences go out to the friends, family, and fans of Trouble, aka Skoob. May they find comfort in the days ahead. May Trouble rest in peace and the memory of his life and art be his forever legacy.
