Two Murderers Escaped New York Prison

There is a manhunt out for two murderers that escaped from Clinton Correctional Facility in Northern New York. David Sweet and Richard Matt dug a hole underground and escaped through a manhole.

“They definitely had help, otherwise they couldn’t have done this on their own, even from the equipment point of view,” said Governor Andrew Cuomo. “I mean, this really could have been a movie script, and if you saw it as a movie script it would have been unbelievable.”

As per ABC News:

Matt is described as standing 6 feet tall, weighing 210 pounds and having black hair and hazel eyes. He has tattoos reading “Mexico Forever,” a heart on his chest and left shoulder, and a Marine Corps badge on his right shoulder, police said.

Sweat is described as standing 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds and having brown hair and green eyes. He has tattoos on his left bicep and his right fingers, police said.

Officials report they have 150 leads, but don’t have much information on anything yet. Cuomo has posted $100, 000 reward for any information about these two men. Under extensive investigation are all those that visit the institution daily including, civilian employees and contractors. Before leaving the prison the two inmates left a note with a smiley face that read “have a nice day.”
