Venus Williams, Pro Tennis Champion, has added another award to her collection. It is a diploma, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, from Indiana University East.
The star athlete enrolled in IU East’s online degree completion program in 2011 under a dual agreement between her home college and the Women’s Tennis Benefits Association. It allows professional women tennis players to earn a baccalaureate online degree. Since day one, Williams was very thrilled to be apart of the IU family.
“One of the main reasons that I chose IU East was because I felt so at home. It was like family, like it was my school, and I was so excited. It’s been an incredible journey,” Williams said. “I’ve learned so much. It was always my dream to have a business degree. I ended up going to art school so many times. But, in the back of my head I felt like I needed the tools to be a better leader. I wanted to be a better planner, to be better at all of the things I wanted to do in my businesses.
