Dave Chappelle may be many things. Yet podcaster is something new for the funny man. That’s right! It’s official, the veteran comedian has a new podcast on the way!
Chappelle will join forces with Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) for the new venture titled “The Midnight Micale”. A new podcast that is to premiere on the podcast network–Luminary. The Midnight Micale, a “salon-style,” podcast will give the listeners an understanding of their personal lives and feature the most influential guests.
The episodes taped during Chappelle’s 2020 Summer Camp in The Shack. A social distanced event held in a garage flipped into a clubhouse, in the middle of a farm in Dayton, Ohio. Chappelle, Bey, and Kweli have edited more than 100 hours of recorded content. The episodes will release in the upcoming weeks. Chappelle having such a vivid taste in music will also incorporate a musical soundtrack. Plus, sketches, impersonations, archival audio clips, and guest interviews.
“Making a podcast isn’t the obvious next move for me, but it’s the right one. The Midnight Miracle gives you a look into how me and my friends process the world around us, and I think it will change the way listeners think of what a podcast can be,” said Chappelle.
Being the first show released from Luminary’s new channel on Apple podcasts, the show is arranged by SALT AUDIO’s Jamie Schefman and Noah Gersh. However, The Midnight Micale will carry out throughout the year with a summer hiatus. You can catch the podcast on Apple Podcasts in May when Apple introduces its new subscription platform.
With that said, we are very excited the veteran comedian has a new podcast on the way! And it sounds pretty entertaining and straightforward. Knowing Chappelle, it will be hilarious and thought-provoking. With Kweli and Bey never stirring away from being outspoken, this podcast is for the history books.
