On Sunday, December 19th, 28-year-old rapper Drakeo the Ruler, unfortunately, succumbed to fatal stab wounds. However, new video evidence has surfaced amid the tragedy showing Drakeo’s possible involvement in an altercation before the stabbing.

What does the video show? According to The Source, the video clearly shows an all-out brawl. While believed Drakeo may have been involved, that is not confirmed. As Hotnewhiphop notes, the hip-hop artist is tough to spot in the video. Yet, one thing is clear: this video is sparking many rumors. Nevertheless, quite a few people are sticking to one hypothesis.
The Hypothesis Underlying the Rumors
After watching the video, a few are theorizing YG is at the bottom of the altercation. According to Hotnewhiphop, some people can be seen wearing merch from YG’s 4Hunnid brand, which has led to social media theories. Although the ideas may have some legitimacy, there is no confirmation. So, this theory is primarily a rumor, meaning nothing more than hot gossip.
The Travesty of Drakeo’s Passing
Drakeo’s death, no matter how it came about, is a travesty on so many levels. As we inch closer to the end of 2021, one thing is becoming apparent: the hip-hop community is under assault. The community just can’t catch a moment to breathe before reporting another loss. This entire situation is eye-opening and heartbreaking.
So How are Other Artist Feeling About the Incident?
Many of the artists are not feeling great about what’s happening in the community. Quite a few are vocalizing that sentiment. Drake is one such artist. Following the incident, Drake jumped on social media, and this is what they had to say,
“Nah man this sh*t isn’t right for real wtf are we doing…?”
Right about now, that is a question everyone is asking. How much more of our future can stand to be lost under the threat of violence?
