Vince Staples confirms his self-titled LP is dropping on Friday, July 9. Additionally, this is the first of two albums that he announced to be released in 2021, the other being titled Ramona Park Broke My Heart.
A self-titled album is no small deal. After spending the past decade building a deep catalog, Vince is making his most personal project to date. Fittingly, Vince informs that this project provides a lot more information about himself that even his fans are unaware of. As one of the most honest and no-BS rappers out there, this is a very intriguing concept.
Excitingly for Hip-Hop heads, Kenny Beats produced this entire LP. Beats has been making a name for himself as one of the most talented, fun, and likable producers out there. Since Vince is known for his sense of humor outside of the booth, we expect great chemistry between the two. Regardless of how it ends up sounding, one thing’s for sure: they had a great time making it.
Vince and Kenny kickin’ it at “The Cave”
Vince took to twitter on his birthday (July 2nd) to officially announce the album’s drop, saying its live for pre-order! Most excitingly, he threw us the track list! A tight 10 tracks without any major features, it’s apparent just how focused of a project that this is going to be. With the lead single “Law of Averages,” it looks like Vince is about to really deliver.
Ramona Park shark!
Vince has a stellar catalog. Between his mixtapes, EPs and LPs he does anything but miss! If you need any convincing, look no further than his remarkable Summertime ’06. Having such great consistency, talent and respect for the game, Vince is a top notch MC and we can’t wait to see what he has in store!
