Was Young Dolph’s Murder A Hit?

Young Dolph

As the city of Memphis, his friends, and especially his family continues to mourn his death, we wonder whether or not Young Dolph’s murder was just a random act of violence, or was this indeed a hit. We don’t know much. The investigation is ongoing, and no suspects are in custody as of yet. However, we do know that a witness said that about 50 gunshots rang out, around the time that Dolph was gunned down. 50 gunshots for one person sounds as if whomever committed this crime, wanted to make sure that Dolph was dead. As we reported here yesterday, two gunmen were seen in surveillance footage hopping out of a white Mercedes, running up on Dolph, and gunning him down in broad daylight, as he walked into Makeda’s Bakery.

Was Young Dolph’s Murder a Hit?

Dolph was in town for his annual Thanksgiving giveaway. According to his lawyer Scott Hill, Dolph was on his way to hand out turkeys to families for the holiday when he decided to stop at Makeda’s Bakery, which was one of his favorite places to stop when visiting his hometown of Memphis. Could whomever murdered Dolph have planned the attack? Did the killers know that Dolph was going to be in town and planned his execution. Or could this have been an incident where Dolph was spotted in his car, gunmen attempted to rob him and it all went bad? Maybe not! The gunmen didn’t leave with any of Dolph’s jewelry, money, not his car, nothing. It appears that they didn’t want to take anything other than his life. Once that mission was complete, they fled the scene.

Industry Beef

Young Dolph was loved by many; however, there were a few with whom he had beef with, like rapper Soulja Boy. Just a week before Young Dolph’s murder, Soulja boy went on to Instagram live where he says “I’ll put a put a $100,000k on a Ni**a head.” Check out the video below.

Soulja Boy Declares War On Young Dolph’s Artist

Soulja Boy remained silent after Dolph’s death, until he started to receive backlash online. He then responded on his Instagram Live saying that if the role were reversed, people would be laughing at him and cracking jokes.

Young Dolph’s artist Snupe Bandz, then took to Instagram to call Soulja Boy a clout chasing B*tch. He also shared DM’s that were allegedly between he and Soulja Boy.

Soulja Boy wasted no time responding, declaring “war forever” on Paper Route Empire, which is Young Dolph’s Label.

Young Dolph and Yo Gotti

Yo Gotti

Following the murder of Dolph, the restaurant of his longtime rival Yo Gotti was temporarily shut down. This was a precaution taken by Memphis Police because of Gotti’s past interactions with Dolph.

Dolph’s and Gotti’s beef stems back from 2016 when Dolph released a album titled King Of Memphis, which is the title that Gotti used to refer to himself. Dolph tweeted that Yo Gotti went from being his biggest fan to biggest hater. The slain rapper said that Gotti wanted to sign him to his label, but he turned it down. The two of them ended up releasing diss tracks against each other.

Dolph not only released a diss track but a video with a Yo Gotti look alike. Dolph’s Suv was targeted with gun fire the next day. Later that year he was shot outside of a hotel where Gotti’s entourage was staying. A suspect was arrested near the location, but was later released. The guy arrested was Corey McClendon, who Gotti had a past with. Neither Gotti or Soulja Boy has been publicly named as suspects in Dolph’s murder.

Has Rapping Become One Of The Most Dangerous Professions?

Ice T

Just hours after Dolph’s death, the original hip hop gangtsa himself Ice T, tweeted his thoughts on the danger of being a hip hop artist. “When I was coming up, being a drug dealer was the most dangerous occupation.. now it seems like being a rapper is…smh No Cap.” Dolph is the not the first rapper to be slain right in his hometown. There have been several, but to name a few, you have Nipsey Hussle, Jam Master Jay, XXXTenacion, New Orleans Cash Money’s Soulja Slim, all murdered in their hometown, and the list goes on.

The Likeliness Of Rappers Being Slain In Their Hometown

How likely is it that a rapper will be killed in his hometown? According to rapper Boosie, “most rappers die in their own city, that’s a fact.” They hate your success.” Check out the video below. Boosie shares his views as to why rappers are hated on in their own city.
