Watch: First ‘Black Adam’ Trailer Starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson
To the delight of superhero fans, Dwayne “The Rock“ Johnson will bring Black Adam to theaters in 2022.
Who is Black Adam?
Black Adam, also known as Teth-Adam or Mighty Adam, is a titular character in DC comics.
He is one of the most ruthless antiheroes in the comic verse. According to lore, Black Adam was a slave who, after being granted power, became merciless in his quest to liberate his people.
In the words of Johnson, “He is the judge, jury, and executioner. He believes in an eye for an eye and will always do everything to protect his people and family.”
Johnson translates passion into reality.
Black Adam is a passion project for the “A” lister.
Johnson once expressed that Black Adam was his favorite comic-book character and has been working on this project for over a decade. He first announced that he was working on the film in 2014. The film is now in post-production, his dream becoming a reality. When asked what excites him most about portraying Black Adam, he said:
“He [Black Adam] does not practice restraint, that makes for a really powerful combination and one that’s explosive, really dangerous, and ultimately very likable, to me at least.”

The film will not only feature Black Adam but other fan favorites like Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Cyclone, and Atom Smasher. For the uninitiated, Black Adam and Shazam operate in the same comic universe. Whether a fan of DC comics, Black Adam, or just Dwayne Johnson, set a reminder.
