The combination of clever, thought-provoking words and phrases, providing intense lyrics to a masterful beat, produces music that stirs up raw emotions that no other entity can create.

DuVernay takes us on the journey of five black and Latino boys who were wrongfully convicted of brutally raping Trisha Meili, a 28-year-old white woman, in Central Park. In this heartbreaking true story, audiences witness the horrific experiences that confronted Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Korey Wise, Raymond Santana, and Yusef Salaam. The “Central Park Five” spent between six and fourteen years in detainment before being exonerated and receiving a 41-million-dollar settlement.
