How Cool? A Woman To Be On A $10 Bill

For decades, we have looked at men every time we pay our bills, order our morning coffee or enjoy a night out with friends. But, by 2020, we could get a fresh new perspective!

Wednesday, the Treasury Department announced that a woman will be on the $10 bill by 2020. Logically, many are asking who will receive this honor?
Well, the choice is up to you! Recently, a survey was made public where Americans could cast their vote on which historical woman they thought should receive this honor, though the $20 bill was the original currency of choice. Picking from notable females such as Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Eleanor Roosevelt, the choice from the initial survey was narrowed down to Harriet Tubman.
According to the statement on Wednesday, the Treasury Secretary, Jack Lew, will be taking input from Americans throughout the summer. If this does come to pass, this will be the first time in 119 years that a woman appears on US currency (Martha Washington appeared on currency previously)!
Though a woman may appear on certain bills, Alexander Hamilton is not going away completely. He will wither appear on the reverse side of the bill or will continue to be printed on a separate set of bills. The bill will be released in 2020 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the constitutional amendment giving the women the right to vote.
