What women talk about when they talk about shaving
If you have seen Fifty Shades of Grey, I’m sure you didn’t miss the fact that Ana was full bush throughout the entire movie. I must admit that it was a complete turnoff for me. I would have rather her vagina be bedazzled. Believe it or not, women shaving or the need for women to shave has been an issue before. It has been part of conversations during a girl’s night in. Should we shave our “love below” or should we just let our bodies do it’s thing? The answer is there is no right way for women to groom themselves. It’s all based on preference. There’s waxing, shaving, Nair and laser hair removal. If you prefer hair, there’s ways to even make designs and make it look cute. For many women who prefer hair, it has nothing to do with wanting to be artistic.
A lot of times it’s about looking and feeling like a woman. According to livestrong’s website scientist suggest that pubic hair is the first sign of maturity. It is the sign that as women we have become sexually mature. Also, pubic hair serves a higher purpose than creating a jungle and discouraging men to head downtown. It protects the vagina from dirt, bacteria and viruses. It’s not only until you have an infection do you wish you hadn’t shaved. Not shaving also decreases the chance for razor bumps, and ingrown hairs, which can give you hell.
Nobody is saying that women should grow a forest, there’s nothing wrong with tidying up. I have heard multiple ways to “style” the vagina. The landing strip being the most common. The UK website “Express” gives a full list, of styles and were even nice enough to give visuals. Overall, when discussing shaving my friends usually tell me “I don’t want to feel like a little girl.” On the other hand, women who do shave it all feel nothing like a little girl. Shaving it all off is often related to being sexually active. Because as women we all know that men don’t really enjoy their penis getting lost in the jungle. And lets not forget how they refuse to perform oral sex.
So we turn to the Brazilian wax, the Nair (that now comes as spray on btw!), or old fashion shaving to get rid of the hair. Then it’s smooth as a babies butt, and ready for that tiny bikini you just bought. Although this sounds great, truthfully shaving “down there” has to be the toughest task to do in the shower. And waxing costs money to get done and is no better than shaving. So we tend to get lazy and go grizzly for a bit. According to “Telegraph” another UK website the best way to get rid of pubic hair is to use hair removal creams.
So while having this conversation with the girls, or perhaps reading this article you realize that it’s your choice. There are pros and cons to both. You can choose to live a double life, or just choose one way to go. If you rather have hair, trim it, style it, channel your inner Picasso. If you rather go bare, use Nair!
