Yeat’s name has been buzzing in hip-hop since catching a few viral singles both this and last year. Fans are eagerly waiting for his new extended play, titled “LYFË,” which looks like it will be dropping pretty soon.
Two days ago, July 30th, Yeat shared an Instagram story hinting that the upcoming EP is “almost done.“ In the image, he also asked if fans wanted the tape this month and announced there are files of songs for the project.
August seems like a perfect time for the rising star’s releases, as he’s been touring his successful album “2 Alivë” all year. Take a look at the Instagram teaser below:
While Yeat is still a fresh face in the industry, Lil Uzi Vert is essentially a seasoned veteran with a lengthy, continuing career. The Philly rapper will be on two songs from Yeat’s “LYFË” project, according to the Instagram story screenshot. In the image above, we see that two of the file names “Got It All” and “Flawlëss” credit Uzi as a feature. It’s interesting watching the relationship between these two modern rap icons develop both musically and beyond. They originally worked with each other for the first time on Yeat’s “2 Alivë” deluxe versions for the songs “3G” and “Big Tonka.”
Will He Be the Future Face of Hip-Hop?
Yeat is currently the frontrunner for the new age trap sound that’s been dominating the underground scene through TikTok and Soundcloud. While he has other talented peers, no one matches Yeat’s level of success and impact yet. Graced with appearances from Gunna and Young Thug, “2 Alivë” sold 34,000 copies. This is highly impressive when compared to works by other new rappers with bigger names and hits that sell fewer units. How well do you think the “LYFË EP” will do commercially for the young talent of Yeat? Read more of FM Hip-Hop’s featured articles today.
