YoungBoy NBA Revives Clubhouse App As Downloads Spike

How to get people to use your app: get them on the app. How do you get them on the app? Give them a reason to use the app. If you’re Clubhouse, then the phrase “YoungBoy NBA live interview” should be music to your ears.

YoungBoy NBA appeared Clubhouse app last week with DJ Akademiks for a long chat. As soon as news of this dropped, Clubhouse’s numbers went through the roof.

In a tweet, DJ Akademiks claimed that YoungBoy’s “entire fanbase” downloaded the app. While definitely not his entire fan base, numbers don’t lie. In only a few days, Clubhouse went from #60 in the App Store to #5.

But is it really any surprise? YoungBoy NBA has been putting up numbers all year long. His September release of Sincerely, Kentrell saw the album, “rocket to No. 1” on Billboard 200.  It also found the No. 1 spot on Billboard‘s US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, along with the single “Nevada” going Gold. On YouTube, YoungBoy counts ten million subscribers and over nine billion video views in total.

Originally a pandemic-era goldmine, Clubhouse has been on the down-and-out recently. At one time, the app boasted some 11.4 million downloads, with reportedly ten million users accessing the app daily. At one point, Twitter wanted to acquire the app for $4 billion, yet talks fell through. Since then, the app dealt with falling download numbers and an overall loss in popularity. However, take one look at what YoungBoy can do for the app, and just imagine what the heads at Clubhouse are thinking.

Indeed, this was not YoungBoy’s first time on Clubhouse. Since he first took interest in the app, he’s had hilarious trolling encounters with the likes of 21 Savage. He’s also had the mother of his child, Iyanna “Yaya” Mayweather drop in. She joined his call to, in her own words, “stalk you”.

If you’re interested in keeping up Kentrell, now would be a good time to join the club…house.
