Golden Landis Von Jones, artistically known as 24kGoldn, rose to fame in 2019 with his record, Valentino, which peaked at #92 on the Billboard Hot 100. The San Francisco native mentioned the upcoming all-star collaboration in a behind-the-scenes clip for his Billboard October Chartbreaker interview:
“The song’s come a long way, but this journey is definitely not over… I can tell you that we have a very special remix in the works… I can’t reveal too much now, but I promise, y’all are going to love to hear it.”
On the other hand, Bieber and Balvin have worked together in the past, as well. The Colombian superstar had a verse on Sorry (Latino Remix) back in 2015–remix to the hit single off Justin’s fourth studio album, Purpose. This was Balvin’s first-of-many crossovers into the American market. Moreover, it sparked the beginning of Latino Remixes, which became popular during the second half of the last decade. Justin isn’t foreign to these sorts of crossovers either, helping elevate Despacito (Remix) into becoming the most successful song of all time back in 2017.
