Serena and Venus Go Head To Head For A Spot In The U.S. Open Semi-Finals
Serena and Venus are back at it again in one of the most intense matches the two have had up to date. Both sisters, two of some of the greatest pro tennis players to ever step on the court, went head to head in an effort to advance to the U.S. Open semifinals. Serena Williams took the win, but it was not an easy match as her sister, Venus Williams, brought her A game, because she too is a phenomenal player. According to New York Times, Serena made a statement about her sister saying;
“She’s going to present a completely different game than my last three matches, four matches. She has nothing to lose. I don’t, either. So we’re just going to go out and have a lot of fun. She came out hitting so hard, just blasting every shot. I was on defense a lot because she had so much power. It wasn’t really easy today at all. She’s the toughest player I’ve ever played in my life, and the best person I know. So it’s going against your best friend and at the same time for me going against the greatest competitor in women’s tennis. So it was really difficult today.”
Although Serena won the match, but Venus as she said will “always be the older sister. That’s never going to change.” No matter what, there will always be love. Congrats to both players on an exciting and intense match.
