Doc Rivers, the NBA coaching veteran, has been named the new head coach of the 76ers,
Three days after parting ways with the LA Clippers, Rivers officially becomes the 76er’s new head coach. According to ESPN, Rivers signed a 5-year coaching deal.

Last Month, The 76ers fired their head coach Brent Brown. The search for their new head coach was set to be narrowed down this week. Rivers became the top contender following his departure from the clippers.
Doc Rivers coached The Loss Angeles Clippers since 2013. In those seven seasons, the clippers went 356-208, which set their franchise record for wins. On Monday, Rivers and the organization parted ways. The Clippers’ season ended in a 3-1 defeat against the Denver Nuggets.

The NBA quickly reacted to the news. “I’m excited for Doc and for the sixers”, Said Steve Kerr, coach of the Golden State Warriors. “He’s important for the league and for the rest of the coaches “, Kerr added.
