Actor-Musician Donald Glover sure has been having a great couple of weeks. It was announced that Glover, aka known as Childish Gambino, is pairing up with actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge for a reboot of the film, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The 2005 original movie featured Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in the lead roles. This new reboot will be an Amazon Prime Video series with Glover and Waller-Bridge serving as executive producers.

While the new show is a big deal for Donald, it’s just the tip of the iceberg.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 37-year-old actor-rapper has sealed an 8-figure deal with Amazon Studios. This new creative marriage will see Glover having his own Prime Video channel. It’ll most likely be projects curated and produced by him. The deal also signifies that Glover will be a significant fixture at Amazon Studios, executive-producing various other projects.

This news created some concerns amongst fans of Donald Glover’s hit surrealism comedy show, Atlanta, on FX. Well, good news. Even though Glover is leaving Disney-owned FX for greener pastures, his current deal with them is still intact. The show was renewed for two recent seasons awhile back. Season 3 of Atlanta is still in the works, even though it’s been unclear when production will resume. Glover and Waller-Bridge’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith is slated for a 2022 premiere.
