New Music Video by Rejjie Snow Featuring Tinashe and grouptherapy
In collaboration with Tinashe and grouptherapy, Rejjie Snow has released a new music video, ‘Disco Pantz.’ The VHS-styled footage shows an underground party in the basement. People dressed following VHS-era fashion are dancing, enjoying themselves and the night.
The song itself matches the footage as well as its name. A disco beat is the basis of the piece, which creates the overall vibe. However, there are other influences present within the song. Tinashe’s RnB hook complements Rejjie and grouptherapy’s modern rap-sounding hooks.
The same eclectic aesthetic goes for the video itself. The disco roots of the song matches the basement in the video. Meanwhile, various frames around the footage show symbols, figures, and silhouettes clearly coming from cultures different from disco. Rejjie Snow and grouptherapy are rapping their verses and reminding them of anime characters.
The song is a part of an upcoming Rejjie Snow album ‘Baw Baw Black Sheep.’ With fourteen songs overall, it will feature MF DOOM, Snoh Aalegra, and more. Multiple songs are already released. The whole record is coming out on July 9th.
