Someone gunned down the upcoming drill artist Tdott Woo, mere hours after the artist signed a recording contract earlier this week (Feb 1.).
Tdott’s Impact
Someone fatally Tdott Woo, also Tajay Johnson for friends and family, just outside his residence. Johnson was a prolific dancer and also a close associate of Fivio Foreign and Pop Smoke, two members of the Brooklyn-based Woo gang. According to the NY Daily News report, Johnson was shot around 2:20 pm on Avenue L near E. 98th St. in Canarsie. Johnson later succumbed to his injuries at Brookdale University Hospital.
” He was a good, good kid . . . He loved singing and dancing and all that. he had a passion for music.” Johnson’s grandmother told NY Daily News. “I couldn’t even get sleep last night,”
Tajay Johnson is famously known for creating the “woo” dance. It was popularized by the massive success of Pop Smoke’s ‘Dior’ and ‘Welcome to the Party.’ Pop can be seen doing the dance in several of his music videos. Pop Smoke was also killed during the rise of his career in February 2020.
While Tdott himself was more behind the scenes within the Brooklyn music scene, many New York artists adopted his dancing. Bronx rapper Cardi B also posted a video to her Instagram in late 2020 teaching her husband Offset the fashionable moves. One can see Tajay’s influence in Fivio. Tdott Woo appeared in the ‘Big Drip’ music video and also a dance tutorial for Fivio Foreign’s single ‘Bop It.’
