A$AP Rocky makes headlines often these days, especially with girlfriend Rihanna (in GQ Magazine earlier this year, he said that Rihanna is the “love of [his] life” and “the one.”) Though fans love the romance, some have lamented it may be keeping both artists from releasing desperately desired new music. But for A$AP, at least, the drought seems to be over: he recently blessed concertgoers with a preview of a new fire song!
The song, which some fans have taken to calling “Mushroom Cloud,” is eccentric, trippy and in a class all by itself. A$AP Rocky debuted the snippet last Saturday at The Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City. Fans believe this track marks an exciting new chapter for the rapper. Although A$AP has not publicly made any announcements about the new project, it is rumored to be titled “All $miles.” Dedicated fans will definitely recognize Rocky performing new music at numerous concerts, like Lyrical Lemonade and Rolling Loud. The new snippets show exciting growth, and leave fans willing to take this unknown ride with the Harlem rapper.
A$AP: Always Strive and Prosper
A$AP Rocky has boasted a long and successful career up to this point. Born in Harlem, New York, Rocky got started with his rap career at the age of 19 in 2007. He teamed up with the A$AP Mob, which consists of producers, rappers and directors (cofounded by the impresario A$AP Yams). In summer 2011, Rocky’s single “Peso” was leaked online and received air play within weeks. After that, his career skyrocketed when he released mixtape “Live. Love. A$AP” in 2013, which featured his breakout single “F##kin Problems.” Rocky hasn’t released a new album since 2018’s Testing. His most recent solo music came in 2019 with the release of “Babushka Boi.”
Back in 2011, A$AP expressed on the Thisis50 podcast that A$AP is an acronym for “Always Strive and Prosper”. Since then, he appears to have been living by those words. He has strived to embrace his flamboyant fashion taste, prosper in the music space and nurture his new romance. Now, with “All $miles” finally nearby and exciting new snippets out there, fans are looking forward to what A$AP has in store for 2021, and the years to come.
