Let’s be honest, artists love to push boundaries. It can be fashion, lyrics, or hairstyles. They always seem to find a way to shock the masses and A$AP Rocky wearing women’s clothes is no different.
The Sundress rapper says that when he goes shopping he actually heads to the women’s section to find pieces. Because he knows that no other men will be rocking them. Some of his most notable pieces including the Gucci North Face and bubble jackets were designed for women. Since he became more active in fashion, A$AP Rocky wearing women’s clothes became more common. He recently said that there is a double standard when it comes to sharing clothes. “My girl could wear all my clothes and get away with it.”
A$AP Rocky In Women’s Clothes-What Is His Favorite Piece?
There have been a number of times the artist has shown up on the red carpet or to events in feminine apparel. Some items we’ve seen often are a crossbody purse or a scarf tied around his head. The New York native is constantly turning heads. However, his favorite piece of women’s clothing seems to be skirts and kilts. In fact, in July 2021 he posed for the cover of GQ in one, saying “I feel more tough, if that makes sense.”
For him, it is all about making a statement. And shocking people is a great way to do that. Even after all of the times he’s shown up in a kilt, people will still spend days talking about it. For A$AP Rocky wearing women’s clothes is a way to stay on top of his game and to be sure that he stays relevant.
He closes out by saying “I feel like you should wear what you want. It’s punk.” Looking back, 90’s punk was more about plaid, black combat boots, leather, and lots of studs. But clearly times have changed.
