#FMSpotlight: Andre 3000 to star in new film ‘Showing Up’ (Pics)

Andre 3000, former Outkast member, has landed a new role in the A24 film ‘Showing Up’

Andre is a penultimate performer and no stranger to the big screen. Most of those who know Andre are familiar with his roles in Four Brothers, Idle Wild, Jimi, and Revolver. According to a source, AMC series Dispatches from Elsewhere (2020) is a recent credit on his filmography, and there is no doubting his ability to pull off the role.

Acting is only one of Andre’s Skills.

Andre has also been an award-winning hip-hop artist. He burst onto the music scene with classmate Big Boi as dirty south rap duo Outkast. They brought the hype with their fresh ATL, funk-fused southern flavor. An early success was proof of their talent, and according to a news outlet, the duo was signed right out of high school. Their initial hit release, ‘Player’s Ball’ was hot right off the presses, going straight to the top of the Rap Charts. They held down their success with later releases ‘ATLiens,’ ‘Aquemini,’ ‘Stankonia,’ and ‘SpeakerBox/The Love Below.’ Despite his irreplaceable flair and flavor, Andre 3000 stepped away from that limelight, and in 2019 he asked fans to stop asking when he would return to the music scene.

In his own words,

“I haven’t been motivated to do a serious project. I’d like to, but it’s just not coming. In my own self, I’m trying to figure out where do I sit?

Yet, In 2020 Andre did a feature on Goodie Mob’s ‘No Cigar.’

Andre’s plans for a future in the music industry aren’t certain

However, we are sure of where we can catch up with him, starring in Showing Up. There are few details available about the film at present, but we know that he is joining a star-studded cast which includes Michelle Williams of ‘Venom’ and ‘OZ the Great and Powerful!’ Production is scheduled for this summer.

In Conclusion, we wish Andre 3000 (Benjamin) all the success in the world. Natural talent never dissipates–it reinvents itself. We can’t wait to see that talent on the big screen once again.
