Celebrities such as DJ Khalid and Ashanti are celebrating the news that they will be one of many Black celebrities who will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Last Thursday (June 17), the “Foolish” singer wrote on Instagram to thank her fans and team for making the honor possible, “Wow… I’m speechless,” she captioned a video. “Super humbled and super honored. I still can’t believe it.
Nipsey Hussle is one of two inductees who will receive a star posthumously.
Ellen K, chairwoman of the Walk of Fame had this to say following the announcement, “The Panel did an amazing job choosing these very talented people. We can’t wait to see each honoree’s reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway,”
Joining them on the Walk of Fame list are Carrie Fisher, DJ Khaled, Black Eyed Peas, Ashanti, Avril Lavigne, Tracee Ellis Ross, Michael B. Jordan, Regina King and more.
