Wu-Tang Clan DJ/Producer Mathematics Is Passing the Mic & Dropping Gems

Wu-Tang is forever — and so is Mathematics’ energy. Only hours after hopping off a tour bus, fresh from the road on Wu-Tang Clan “Final Chamber” tour, DJ, producer, and hip-hop visual architect Mathematics hopped on a call with me like time zones, tour fatigue, and 30 years of rap legacy were just background noise. He pulled back the curtain on the now and teased what’s waiting in the wings. As Wu-Tang’s sound and influence remains timeless Mathematics is working to build a new cultural imprint. His latest project? An innovative collaboration with SoundCloud called the “Warriors Two, Cooley High” Open Verse Challenge. And this isn’t just another internet contest, it’s a lyrical cipher with the power to crack open the gate for the next generation.

“Let’s See What Else Somebody Can Do With This”

Image via SOUNDCLOUD

The spark for the open verse challenge came from the new track “Warriors Two, Cooley High,” featuring Method Man and Benny the Butcher. Mathematics shared that the beat inspired him: “Let’s see what else somebody can do with this.”

Here’s how it works: Aspiring MCs can download the exclusive instrumental, co-produced by Mathematics and his son, Wise Beatz, for free on SoundCloud. Then, they’ll record their best 16-bar verse and upload it as a remix on SoundCloud using the hashtag #WarriorsTwoOpenVerse. The contest runs until August 15, 2025. If your verse shines? You could land a spot on Wu-Tang’s official SoundCloud playlist.  So, what are Mathematics and The Clan looking for? It’s more than just good lyrics, it’s about presence. The challenge is open to everyone, regardless of age or style, but this goes beyond just rhyming. It’s about crafting something that feels real. Something that resonates.

“You gotta have lyricism, style, cadence, and weight,” he notes. “If you don’t deliver it right, it won’t connect. That verse has to compete with anyone else’s. Meth keeps his cadence tight. Benny kills his. You gotta find that pocket.”

“I just want to see people breathe life into this track,” Mathematics says. “As a creative, that’s what it’s all about — watching your work evolve.”

The Final Chamber Tour: Heavy Name, Heavier Legacy

Naturally, I had to ask Mathematics about the tour that’s got Wu fans nervously looking up retirement rumors: “Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber.” So… is this really the last tour?

“Look,” he chuckled, “I’m a fan too. So all I can say is, if you can get tickets, grab them. Come enjoy the show.”

For him and Wu-Tang, the tour has been a full-circle moment. Playing classics dating back to their first drop, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) to crowds filled with thousands of original fans and their kids has felt surreal. For Mathematics, it’s a time of gratitude, a celebration of perseverance, and a reminder that hip-hop doesn’t age, it evolves, adapts, and grows.

The Man Behind the Wu Tang ‘W’

If you didn’t know, now you know: Mathematics is the creative genius behind the iconic Wu-Tang “W.”” And when I asked him what was going through his head when he created it?

“Honestly?” he says. “I had to go to work the next morning. I just wanted to knock it out.” Yes. That’s right. The most recognized symbol in hip-hop, the inspiration for countless tattoos, graphic tees, video game cameos, and even TV moments, came to life the night before a shift. When I asked if he ever envisioned it becoming so influential, he smiled and replied, “Nope. I didn’t. I’m glad it did. But nah… I didn’t see that coming.” That blend of humility and creative instinct really captures Mathematics. He doesn’t chase trends or overthink legacy. He simply creates, letting the culture speak for itself.

Evolution Without Compromise: From Wu-Tang to the Future

Over the years, Mathematics has broadened his production sound, diving deeper into live instrumentation while stepping away from sampling, all without losing that classic Wu-Tang Clan grit. “You start to understand music in a new way,” he explained. “But I always come back to that raw, rugged hip-hop. That’s the essence of it. That’s Wu.”

His latest pride and joy? The newest Wu-Tang Clan release, “Black Samurai: The Bass Warsman.” Not just because it’s fresh, but because it signifies his growth, working closely with his son, and pushing the sonic limits of what Wu-Tang can still represent. “Every project, I’m looking to evolve. But I always want to keep that spirit alive. I need it to hit.

And what’s on the horizon? “Rest first,” he joked. “But you’ll see some things before the year wraps up. I don’t like to talk too much until it’s all set. I’ll show you better than I can tell you.”

Duke & Dame: A Spirited Journey Of Friendship And Flavor

In the world of distilled spirits, few brands resonate with the essence of camaraderie and innovation, quite like Duke & Dame. Co-founded by friends Amani Macaulay and Chima Burey, the brand has become synonymous with passion, authenticity, and a commitment to creating unforgettable experiences.

The genesis of Duke & Dame emerged from a night out that forever altered their lives. It was a night that saw the introduction of Fireball whiskey, which ignited a conversation. What flavor of whiskey would you create? Amid laughter and memories, the idea of a whiskey inspired by childhood delights, like the beloved sugar baby candy, began to take shape. This concept was the seed that sprouted Duke & Dame.

The Foundation Of Duke & Dame

Amani and Chima have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. And they embarked on their whiskey-making journey with research and dedication. Building a brand from scratch requires more than just business knowledge. It also required a true commitment. Their motivation was fueled by the feedback received from friends and family during tasting sessions. Believing in their product, they were ready to bring their creation to the world.

Standing out in the competitive spirits industry is no small task. Duke & Dame’s founders recognized this challenge and chose to focus their energies on their whiskey. They followed an authentic process, at first in their kitchens. Creating the right flavoring and formula. Unlike some other brands that include artificial colorings. Duke & Dame embraces the natural hues that come from the aging process. Each batch matures for a minimum of 2 years, ensuring the product is genuine.

One aspect that sets Duke & Dame apart is their conscious approach to sugar content. With only 1 gram of sugar per serving, their whiskey boasts the lowest sugar content in the industry: a clear testament to their dedication to quality and health-conscious consumers. This commitment to excellence, as well as inclusivity, goes beyond the product.

In addition, the brand’s name, “Duke & Dame,” represents a blend of masculine and feminine. Creating empowerment and pride.

At the heart of Duke & Dame lies a consumer-centric mission. So, every step of product development is influenced by the desire to satisfy and delight their customers.

For five years, Amani and Chima have been the driving force behind the brand. Personally crafting the whiskey and sharing it with the world. Their immediate goal is to cultivate consumer loyalty. However, the dynamic duo is already in the process of creating the next industry sensation: “ready-to-drink cocktails.”

The Impact

The impact of Duke & Dame is undeniable. Their creations grace the menus in some of NYC and Miami’s trendiest spots. Creating waves within the scene. One of the most notable creations is the espresso martini, which showcases the versatile nature of the Duke & Dame spirit. Also, founder favorites offer a glimpse into their personalities.

Amani revels in the moment and is all about whatever matches his vibe. But he did shout out the “Make Me Blush.” A blend of grapefruit, agave, red wine, lemon juice, and Duke & Dame.

Meanwhile, Chima gravitates toward a smoked Duke & Dame Old Fashioned.

Duke & Dame’s story is more than just the tale of a whiskey brand. It’s a narrative of friendship, innovation, and a dedication to raising people’s spirits. Given that as they continue to explore new avenues, Amani and Chima exemplify the journey of turning dreams into reality, one sip at a time.

Drake Crowned Hip Hop’s MVP for 2023 by Spotify’s RapCaviar: The Ongoing Dominance of Drizzy

https://www.instagram.com/p/CvXQodAuaBy/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==It’s only August, but the verdict is in – Drake crowned hip hop’s MVP for 2023. The title was given by none other than Spotify’s RapCaviar. Despite tough competition. Including Metro Boomin, Lil Baby, and 21 Savage. It seems the fans have spoken, and Drizzy is continuing to hold the top spot.

RapCaviar’s Instagram couldn’t help but boast about the decision, proclaiming, “The people have spoken. 2023’s #AllRapCaviar MVP is Drake.” It appears this award was based on fan votes, and there’s no denying that Drake’s fanbase is one of the most dedicated in the industry.

Drake’s On Top-Not Everyone Agrees

However, not everyone was thrilled with the announcement. As always, with success comes the haters. Frustrated rap fans flooded the comment section of the post. Adding comments about not just Drake, but also at RapCaviar for the decision. “Drake hasn’t dropped anything good since Scorpion,” one person claimed. Another sarcastically wrote, “Drake could fart into a mic, and his d riders would still vote for him.” But let’s be honest, these negative comments are nothing new for the Toronto-born superstar.

Drake may not have dropped an album in 2023 yet. But rumors are stirring about his upcoming project, “For All The Dogs.” Which is expected to hit the airwaves soon. However, even without a new album, he’s been making moves in the industry. He’s been busy collaborating and dishing out assists. For instance, his menacing appearance on Travis Scott’s “UTOPIA” album. The 6 God is making his presence felt without even dropping a full-length project.

Drake’s impact on the industry has earned praise from all corners of life. Including NBA superstar Kevin Durant. In an interview with RapCaviar, Durant boldly stated that he would start Drake over rap heavyweights like Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole. The forward for the Phoenix Suns even placed Drizzy at the top of his list of the greatest rappers. Placing him alongside legends like JAY-Z, Biggie Smalls, 2Pac, and Scarface.

While Drake’s on top, it’s essential to recognize other rising stars in the industry. Destroy Lonely got the title Rookie of the Year by RapCaviar. This highlights the emergence of fresh talent in the ever-evolving world of Hip Hop. Artists like 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert, Metro Boomin, and Lil Baby also made the All-RapCaviar First Team. Showing the diverse pool of talent that continues to push the genre’s boundaries.

Drake’s music continues with his current “It’s All A Blur Tour.” Which recently touched down in Philadelphia. Adding to the night’s significance, he was joined on stage by his former foe Meek Mill. Symbolizing the power of reconciliation and unity in the music community. During the show, Drake paid tribute to Gillie Da Kid’s son, Cheese, who tragically lost his life the previous month.

Love him or hate him, there’s no denying that Drake has an impact on the hip hop world. As we look ahead to the rest of 2023, we’re on the edge of our seats for the release of “For All The Dogs.”

Congratulations to Hip Hop’s 2023 MVP, Drizzy Drake!

Empowering Women, Embracing Identity: An Interview with Yvonne Guidry, Founder of SpoiledLatina

In the world of entrepreneurship, there are a number of success stories that stem from overcoming adversity. As well as turning negativity into an opportunity for growth. Yvonne Guidry, the visionary behind SpoiledLatina, is one such entrepreneur, empowering women. Her inspiring journey has touched the lives of countless women, particularly women of color. In this exclusive interview, Yvonne shares her mission of  promoting self-love, and understanding one’s worth. Which led her to create a platform that celebrates diversity and advocates for women entrepreneurship.

How Yvonne Guidry is Empowering Women

Yvonne’s motivation to create SpoiledLatina can be traced back to 2008 when she found herself restricted to the label of being “the wife of” someone. Rather than being seen as her own individual. The feeling of always being the “last one to eat” and wearing so many different hats fueled her desire for change. However, it was an incident on a video shoot that set her motivation on fire. Someone referred to her as a “spoiled Latina,” which sparked a realization within her. Rather than letting the negative meaning of the term upset her. Yvonne saw the potential to turn it into a powerful force for good.

Carving Out Her Own Path

During her time at the SwishaHouse record label, Yvonne Guidry played a pivotal role. For her, being at SwishaHouse presented an opportunity to challenge and reshape her mindset. Instead of simply being defined as her husband’s wife, she approached her role with a different perspective. Determined to carve out her own identity. Yvonne wanted to make a name for herself independently. Despite her husband’s ownership of the label. She was driven to be known as “Yvonne,” choosing the path less traveled. Yvonne decided to pave her way. Taking the “hard way” to create her own distinct path in the industry. Her tenacity represents her commitment to personal growth and empowerment as a woman in the business world.

In 2015, she took the brave step of creating her blog, SpoiledLatina. With the mission to support and empower all women, particularly women of color. What started as a personal journey quickly evolved into something much greater. As her blog gained attention, Yvonne began attending conferences across the country. Building relationships and partnerships, as well as embracing her motto: “hustle, motivate, and collaborate.” Through these efforts, she not only advocated for women entrepreneurship, but also became a beacon of awareness. In particularly, for the challenges women face in their pursuit of success.

For Yvonne, finding a balance between work and life is essential to leading a fulfilling, well-rounded existence. SpoiledLatina has become a valuable resource for women seeking to enhance their lifestyles. Providing them with the tools and knowledge to create the best versions of themselves.

Notably, Yvonne’s journey isn’t just about personal growth. She is keen on promoting diversity and representation within her company and events. By featuring panels made up of women from various backgrounds and cultures, she ensures that SpoiledLatina fosters an inclusive environment.

One of the pivotal moments in Yvonne’s journey was her partnership with Diageo. As part of their 200%er initiative with Buchanan’s Whiskey. The program’s goal is to empower hustlers to keep pushing forward and never giving up. Through this collaboration, Yvonne’s second annual SpoiledLatina Summit attracted over 500 women. Making a significant impact on Hispanic culture.

Reflecting on the partnership, Yvonne shared, “We have always consumed their products, but now, seeing ourselves represented by it, everything feels different. It’s empowering, especially when we look back on how far we’ve come.”

Be sure to try Yvonne’s infamous Buchanan’s cocktail, the Buchanita!

Ingredients:

· 1.5 oz Buchanan’s 12-Year-Old DeLuxe Blended Scotch Whisky

· 5 oz Fresh Pineapple Juice

Garnish: Fresh Pineapple Slice for Garnish

Glassware: Highball Glass

Facing Obstacles & Overcoming Them

Despite the progress made, Yvonne realizes the barriers that women, especially women of color, face. Particularly in forming brand partnerships. However, she remains optimistic about the future and encourages aspiring business owners to follow their hearts and pursue their passions. Her advice is simple yet profound: “Go for it, whatever it is in your heart. It’s okay if it’s not altogether, life is short!”

Yvonne Guidry’s journey from being known as “the wife of” to becoming a trailblazing entrepreneur and advocating for women’s empowerment displays the power of resilience and self-belief. SpoiledLatina continues to be a force of positive change, lifting up women and encouraging them to embrace who they are, love themselves, and understand their true worth. As Yvonne continues to lead by example, her impact on women, communities, and the world at large is nothing short of remarkable.

Unveiling the Shadows: A Vegas Search Warrant Resurfaces Hope in Solving Tupac’s Murder

The mysterious and unsolved murder of rap icon Tupac Shakur has haunted the music world for over two decades. In a surprising turn of events, a recent search warrant executed in Las Vegas has brought new hope for justice. As well as closure to Tupac’s murder. The raid, conducted at the home of Paula Clemons in Henderson, Nevada, sparked talk about her potential connection to the murder of the legendary rapper.

What Does the Nevada Home Have To Do With Tupac’s Murder?

The significance of Paula Clemons’ home being searched lies in her association with Keefe D, a former Crip member, who has made public claims about his involvement in the tragic event. Keefe D previously said he was in the car with the person responsible for the shooting. Igniting curiosity and scrutiny among investigators and fans alike.

The roots of Tupac’s murder trace back to a heated altercation. Tupac, along with Death Row Records founder Suge Knight and others, engaged in a fight with Orlando Anderson, who was suspected of being involved in the shooting. The encounter was captured on surveillance video, leading to speculation that it may have triggered a retaliation after the Mike Tyson fight.

Orlando Anderson, the alleged shooter, has denied any involvement in Tupac’s murder until killed in a separate shootout. Despite the case remaining open, many believed the chances of solving it were low.

However, the recent search warrant at Paula Clemons’ home is a potential breakthrough in the investigation.

Insight From A Key Biggie Murder Detective

Greg Kading, a key murder investigator who worked on the case of another iconic rapper, The Notorious B.I.G., believes this new development could lead to answers. Kading gained insights into both Pac and Biggie’s murders while with the LAPD, also playing an essential role in uncovering crucial information from Keefe D back in 2009.

At the time, investigators made a deal with Keefe D that prevented them from using his confession to prosecute him. However, that arrangement became void once he went public with his story. Kading suspects that the Vegas Police Department may have been quietly building their case in recent years, waiting for the right moment to act. As the pieces fall into place, there is new hope for justice.

The search at Paula Clemons’ home indicates that the police had enough evidence to obtain a warrant, implying a credible connection to the Tupac murder case.

While this recent development brings newfound optimism, it is essential to approach it with cautious anticipation. Solving a case as complex and convoluted as Tupac’s murder requires meticulous investigation and examination of all available evidence. The passage of time may have blurred some details, but the dedication of law enforcement and the unyielding support of fans worldwide show that the quest for justice remains steadfast.

As we await further updates and developments in this ongoing investigation, let us remember Tupac Shakur not only as an exceptional artist but also as a symbol of resilience and courage. The impact of his words and music continues to resonate with generations, making it all the more imperative to bring those responsible for his untimely demise to justice.

In Conclusion

In the words of Tupac himself, “Reality is wrong. Dreams are for real.” And, for those who seek closure in his murder case, this recent search warrant is a glimmer of hope that the truth might finally emerge from the shadows that have haunted the legacy of one of hip-hop’s greatest artists.

Future Takes Shots At Russell Wilson…Again

In a not so surprising turn of events, Future takes shots at Russell Wilson once again. Future, who shares a child with his ex, the talented Ciara, has once again thrown shade at her NFL husband on a new collab with Quavo.

Future Disses Wilson On New Single

Released on Friday, June 14, the Migos rapper’s fresh single, “Turn Yo Clic Up,” features an unexpected verse from none other than Future himself. And boy, does he take a shot at the Denver Broncos’ star quarterback.

With unapologetic audacity, Future spits out the line “fu*k Russell” while unabashedly boasting about his success on the field. It’s a classic case of rap bravado meets real-life drama. And we can’t help but grin at the rivalry that has been brewing between these two.

“Big dawg status, bill hopper,” Future proudly proclaims in his verse. Leaving us all wondering what exactly a “bill hopper” entails. Is it a reference to his financial prowess? Or perhaps it’s a subtle nod to his knack for billiards? Regardless, we’re intrigued.

And that’s not all – Future takes the opportunity to flex his shopping skills. Rapping about balling in someone’s mall for his brothers. Clearly, he knows how to treat his loved ones while rocking that Goyard bag and toting the Corduroy. Because when you’re Future, you don’t just walk around with any old bag – you bring the heat with you.

But what really caught our attention was the line that’s bound to stir up some controversy: “I got it out the field, fu*k Russell.” Now, we can’t be sure if this is a clever wordplay, suggesting that Future’s success came from his own endeavors on the field, or if he’s taking a swipe at Russell’s football career. Either way, it’s a bold move, and we can’t help but appreciate the audacity.

“Turn Yo Clic Up” is just a taste of what we can expect from Quavo’s upcoming solo album, Rocket Power. Set to drop soon, this album holds a special meaning for Quavo, as he dedicates it to his late nephew and fellow groupmate, TakeOff. It’s an emotional tribute, laced with bangers and surprises, including this unexpected Future and Russell Wilson showdown.

Listen to the track here:

While we eagerly anticipate the release of Rocket Power. We can’t help but revel in the witty banter between Future and Russell. It’s a playful back-and-forth that reminds us that even in the glitz and glam of the music industry, celebrities are just like us – indulging in some friendly teasing and rivalry.

So, buckle up and get ready for more fiery lines, clever wordplay, and unexpected disses. As long as Future has something to say, we’ll be here, popcorn in hand, enjoying the show.

What Makes Eminem A Real One?

The story unfolded during the video shoot for 50 Cent’s iconic 2003 hit, “In Da Club.” Yayo describes how Suge Knight, the former CEO of Death Row Records, unexpectedly appeared. With him was a group of Mexican gangsters. Once they arrived, chaos and panic started on set. During the commotion, Eminem remained calm.

“This is why I always respected Eminem, 50, and the people who were with us,” Yayo expressed. Highlighting the rapper’s unwavering demeanor in the face of danger. He went on to describe the intimidating presence of Suge Knight.

Yayo made sure to include some comedy by mentioning the contrast between the New York-based crew and the tattooed former Death Row Records CEO. “Now, we from New York; you ain’t never seen a ni**a with a tattoo on his forehead.” With their backs against the wall, Yayo recalled the sentiment within the group, saying, “Might as well go all out and fight right here!”

Tony Yayo attributed Eminem’s courage to his Detroit roots. Suggesting that his boldness was ingrained in the city’s culture. He recalled another time Proof, a Detroit rapper and close friend of Eminem, fearlessly confronted Suge Knight about his alleged involvement in Tupac’s murder.

Yayo remarked, “Them Detroit ni**as are kinda crazy, bruh! Them 7, 8 Mile ni**as always been crazy.”

This story also goes along with former G-Unit rapper Bang ‘Em Smurf’s account from August 2022. Smurf detailed how Eminem, understanding his significance as a key asset, even wore a bulletproof vest to prepare for the potential brawl.

As Tony Yayo’s story unfolds, it becomes clear that Eminem’s fearlessness extends beyond his music. His unwavering composure in the face of adversity exemplifies his genuine character. It also earns him the respect of those around him. So, while Eminem’s talent and success continue to be celebrated, his unyielding bravery distinguishes him as a true force to be reckoned with, both in the music industry and life itself.
