Jesus Lara, Univision president of radio, said the following:
“We are extremely excited to celebrate the richness of Latinx culture during Hispanic Heritage Month with this one-of-a-kind live streaming experience.”
&
“We are proud to showcase the artistry of Bad Bunny, who has had such a profound impact on our culture and on the music industry at large.”
New Age in Music
Uforia Music Series will be airing virtual concerts once a month until December 2020. Univision will announce the artists and their respective dates soon. Since the pandemic, artists have been taking to alternative forms of communication to display their music. These mediums include social media platforms and even video games!
- For example, other Urban Latinx artists such as Rauw Alejandro and Ozuna hopped on the Youtube event wave before El Conejo Malo did. Ozuna’s online concert, for one, was part of the #LatinosUnidos hashtag and it racked up 1.5M views.
- We’ve also seen artists have virtual gigs on online communities such as Fortnite. For instance, Travis Scott teamed up with the game back in April to present Astronomical and to promote his then-new song featuring Kid Cudi, THE SCOTTS. Then, as recent as last week, Fortnite had singer/rapper Dominic Fike perform songs off his studio debut album WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG for the first time ever on their platform!
Don’t forget to tune in to Bad Bunny in Concert!
