Bas, J.Cole, and Lil Tjay collab on "The Jackie"

J.Cole, Bas, and Lil Tjay’s upcoming single “The Jackie” will be released tomorrow.

DreamVille rapper Bas is teaming up with J.Cole and Lil Tjay for a new single called “The Jackie.” Dreamville Records revealed the collaboration on Instagram, uploading a snippet of the track from Lil Tjay’s Triller account.

“You see the drop top, bitch stop playing with me/She said she want to let the waves smash down on me, she want to let the waves splash down on me,” J.Cole croons on the chorus. Thanks to Cole’s infectious hook, it seems we could potentially have a summer smash hit on our hands. In addition, the snippet features a tropical sounding instrumental over steel drum production and a portion of Lil Tjay’s verse . The trio is hoping to make a mark on the summer and also kick off the rollout to Bas’s next project.

“I’m young and I’m bossed up/That’s the difference don’t let it get crossed up/I was seventeen coming through Porsche’d up.”

Bas, a rapper from Queens, joined to J. Cole’s Dreamville label in 2014. Back in March, he released the single “Selfish,” a collaboration with Wyclef Jean and PRICE. He has three studio albums under his belt, with his most recent being 2018’s Milky Way.  In addition, Bas recently appeared on Cole’s album, The Off Season, which topped the Billboard 200 album chart in May.
