Beyonce’s BeyGOOD Foundation Pledges 1 Million to Black Owned Businesses in Response to Pandemic

Present throughout the pandemic, the BeyGOOD fund has provided extensive support to organizations helping varying groups of people. On Wednesday it was announced the foundation would be providing an additional 1 Million to their funds to support small Black-owned businesses. This, as described online, is an addition, or “part two,” to the fund created in early July of this year for the same cause.

The BeyGOOD page references the disproportionately negative consequences on black communities during the pandemic. Upon application and search, the fund finds small businesses in need of aid. As it was within the last fund, the selected businesses receive 10,000 dollars in aid to sustain their growth during the pandemic. They specifically find businesses in need, who have faced major damage within the last few months, in cities like New York, Houston, Los Angeles,  Atlanta, and Minneapolis.

Beyonce’s aid fund has helped with major issues over the years. Prior to the pandemic, they aided in scholarships, BLM, South African schools, water sources in Burundi, mental health aid and so forth. The organization has continuously sought out issues that disproportionately affect Black Communities and added aid through strong pre-existing foundations. For example during the pandemic, they have aided a series of organizations that are providing constant health aid. This new fund is another fantastic addition to the list of  causes and accomplishments of BeyGOOD.
