Apparently, the reason Caleb Martin ended up on Miami Heat is J. Cole. The Charlotte Observer interviewed Caleb Martin and reported that Cole paid a decent effort to secure Martin’s position on the team.

“It’s dope he considers me one of his people that he takes into account,” Martin also shared with the newspaper. “You could just tell he appreciates guys who grind like he does.”

Turns out, J. Cole has the whole private gym in North Carolina. Players that the artist is friendly with work and master their basketball skills there. Some of the best state players train there also, including Cody Martin and his twin brother, Caleb Martin.

At some point, Cole saw the two playing alongside in his gym. Caleb Martin was reportedly “dunking on guys” while knocking “3-pointers and game-winners.”

This was enough to also impress Cole. Omar Khanani, personal Martin twins’ trainer, explained that “Cole holds his own against guys, and Caleb was giving him fits. You’ve got a gym full of pros, and he’s standing out.”

J. Cole started to seek potential contractors for Caleb Martin. After the long list of various denials, Caron Butler showed up. Butler is a long friend of Cole and the assistant coach for the Miami Heat.

“He told me he had a very, very talented guy that was just wrecking shop up here in North Carolina, Butler explained. “He reached out to me, and I just invited him to an open scrimmage in the summer.” Afterward, Martin “really earned his way on,” as Butler explains.

Turns out, Cole was right in his predictions. Caleb Martin is now playing for Miami Heat.

Cole & Colin Kaepernick

Apart from helping Caleb Martin, J. Cole has also been in the football spotlight. A couple of days ago, the artist posted about Kaepernick on Instagram.

“I see you, bro, and I know God is with you,” Cole then claimed. “I pray the day soon comes when you get to play the game you love at the highest level again. And I haven’t forgotten. RESPECT.”

Cole’s post referred to the football player Colin Kaepernick. In 2016, he did not stand up for the national anthem before the game. The football player explained that he does not want to support the country, which allows the current political climate.

Later on, Kaepernick started to kneel instead of just sitting down during the anthem. He did so to respect the war veterans fighting for the U.S.
