Former President Barack Obama Reveals Breaking Friend’s Nose After Being Called Racial Slur

By Prince Hakeem

Now we know former President Barack Obama as a dignified individual who, thanks to former First Lady Michelle Obama, chooses to “go high.” However, that always wasn’t the case.

During an episode of a new joint-podcast with rock legend Bruce Springsteen, Obama revealed a moment from his childhood years in Hawaii where he went low and got into a fight. Obama described getting into a fight and breaking a former friend’s nose after calling him a coon.

“Listen, when I was in school, I had a friend. We played basketball together,” Obama said. “And one time, we got in a fight, and he called me a coon. Now, first of all, ain’t no coons in Hawaii, right?”

This story came during a segment in the episode where Obama and Springsteen described their different upbringings and challenging discussions on race in America.

Obama continued, “Yo, it’s one of those things that—where he might not even know what a c**n was what he knew was, ‘I can hurt you by saying this.’ And I remember, I popped him in the face and broke his nose.”

In case you’re wondering how a podcast between a former president and rock icon works, know it’s meant to showcase how two different people from vastly different bonds can find common ground and bond.

New Jersey Legalizes Recreational Marijuana

On Monday February 22, Governor Phil Murphy signed three bills that legalized and decriminalized marijuana in New Jersey. This makes New Jersey the 14th state to legalize marijuana and the most populous state to do so in the Northeast. Murphy has publicly advocated for recreation and legalization since his campaign runs in 2016 but failed to secure the supporters. Legal sales are still months away as the state creates a heavily regulated industry large enough for the demand. It is expected to take some time to issue the proper licensing for dispensaries. You can legally buy/sell at a dispensary so long you are not under 21. The latest industry is projected to generate $126 million in revenue.

New Jersey historically has been the toughest enforcer of marijuana law. Marijuana possession accounted for 10.6% of arrests made state-wide by state, local, and federal authorities. In 2016 there was 33 thousand marijuana arrest made, more than murder, rape, assault or any type of theft. 36% of the marijuana possession arrest were African-American although blacks are only 13% of the state’s population. This legislation addresses the history and racial injustice of marijuana enforcement. The bill allows one to have up to 6 ounces of marijuana on a person. The bill also removes marijuana use or possession as a parole violation and can not be used as a condition for supervised release.

Cardi B Explains How COVID-19 Became A Business

Cardi B Revealed How Much It Costs To Administer Her Team’s Weekly COVID-19 Tests

The ongoing global pandemic has altered everything, causing disruptions in every aspect of our lives for the past 11 months and forced a complete re-imagination of how we live and work. That includes a vast amount new and unexpected costs including Covid tests piling up by the day for artists who are lucky to be working at a time when millions of Americans are stuck at home.

Take Cardi B. The “WAP” rapper revealed on Tuesday (Jan. 26) that she’s spending a ton of money every week repeatedly getting tested for Covid, as well as administering multiple tests to her whole team. “I get Covid tested bout 4 times a week. My glam and management gotta get tested as well,” she tweeted. “Every time we get tested is about 250$ each. This is seriously a new business.”

When a fan said they thought the tests were free, Cardi explained that it’s free when you go to your doctor’s office, but “when it’s for work and you gotta have people test you at your home is not.” However, Cardi wasn’t complaining about the cost because she knows the legal and health ramifications if she doesn’t do everything she can to keep herself and her team safe.

Cardi had previously revealed that she and Megan Thee Stallion spent $100,000 on COVID-19 tests while filming the “WAP” video. According to Uproxx‘s math on how much Cardi is laying out weekly at the moment on tests, it’s $1,000 a day and $7,000 a week for herself and her whole team.

“It’s necessary because if you in my space and you get Covid I can get sued. If I do a commercial and I get Covid the company can get sued,” she said. “Its all about not being a liability and is a requirement. The government should be paying for healthcare workers we pay out our own pockets.” When another user noted that Cardi is lucky that she has the luxury of getting private testing considering what she and her fellow front-line health care workers are enduring — “I’m a nurse working on a covid floor. You know how many times they test us? Or ASK if we should go get tested? 0%,” they wrote — Cardi clarified why she brought the topic up.

Police All Across America Are Preparing For Violence On Inauguration Day

State officials across the Country are preparing for what could be violent demonstrations in support of President Donald Trump in the days leading up to the January 20th inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.

Many states, including California, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Florida, had activated their National Guard forces to reinforce security as of Saturday.

According to TMZ, in addition to high alert patrolling of major cities across the country, sources are also reporting that law enforcement will also pay close attention to other important landmarks around the United States.

There will be a overwhelming number  of security around the Trump Tower and other locations linked to Trump, in addition to officers patrolling around City Hall in the days leading up to the ceremony.
A source notes that while there are no specific threats to these buildings, NYPD simply doesn’t want to take any chances.

Five people died in the U.S Capital riot, and many arrested, which happened after Trump repeated false claims of fraud in the November election and encouraged his supporters to march on the Capitol. Since then, a second impeachment has happened and he has been banned from several social media platforms – including Twitter.

FBI Present Evidence to Keep Casanova in Prison

The FBI Present Evidence to Keep Casanova in Prison

According to AllHipHop, the government is opposing the release of rapper Casanova. After turning himself in on December 4th, Casanova is currently held in Westchester County Jail for intentionally manufacturing and distributing cocaine and marijuana. He is also charged for possessing a firearm.

Casanova’s lawyer came forward with a $2.5 million bail package, but prosecutors are still attempting to keep him in jail. His bail package includes five properties worth over $1.2 million and 13 cosigners who put up their salaries. Casanova is currently involved in the RICO case the government filed against The United Gorilla Stone Nation.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Gorilla Stone Nation, they are a street gang that has hundreds of members in New York, Florida, and North Carolina. They are allegedly responsible for multiple brutal slashings as well as a drug ring.

https://youtu.be/JOkJjnl4M0U

According to Acting United States Attorney Audrey Strauss, “While it is incredibly disturbing that the defendant used his now-deleted Instagram profile and public platform to shamelessly promote a violent street gang, his participation in the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation enterprise ran much deeper than that. Right up until his arrest, the defendant was in the thick of Gorilla’s Stone’s dangerous and illicit activity.”

“Indeed, in the minutes and hours after the defendant realized law enforcement was looking for him, law enforcement stopped received geolocation data for the defendant’s cell phone, which is consistent with the cellphone being dropped,” Acting United States Attorney, Audrey Strauss told The Honorable Philip M. Halpern. “And he did not self surrender right away in Atlanta, where he was the day his arrest warrant was unsealed. It was only after several rounds of negotiations with counsel—and after the defendant seemingly dropped his cellphone and drove to New York from Atlanta—that the defendant surrendered two days later…while, in the end, the wisdom of counsel prevailed on him, the most telling insight into this defendant comes from his first reaction the day his arrest warrant was unsealed: he ran.”

He has also been recorded in conversations with the leader of the Gorilla Stone Nation, Dick Wolf.

Lil Wayne and Kodak Black Could Be Given Presidential Pardon

Lil Wayne and Kodak Black Given Presidential Pardon

Preparing for his final days in office, Donald Trump has been giving out a few controversial presidential pardons. According to Bloomberg, he may be adding a few more people to that list. So far, the list seems to include senior White House officers, a few influential celebrities, and family members. There is even a rumor going around that he might aim to pardon himself from any future litigation.

In the last month or so Kodak Black was requesting release and was denied. Kodak is in prison for possession of weapons. He publicly tweets to Trump to give him a pardon. It seems other celebrities, like Lil Yachty has also requested for Black to be released.

Lil Wayne has also been a supporter of Trump for some time, so we will not be surprised when Trump extends his kindness to him. Wayne was only recently arrested and is now facing prison time. Wayne is currently on trial for his felony where he was illegally carrying a gold-plated 45-caliber Glock handgun and ammunition on his private jet last year.

So how can the presidential pardons actually help them? According to Nolo, “Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution designates the President as the only person with the power to grant pardons and reprieves for federal crimes.”

Hip-Hop Reacts to Pro-Trump Mob at U.S Capital

As violent protesters stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday during the counting of electoral votes to confirm President-elect Joe Biden, America was watching. That included some people in the entertainment world, many of whom were compelled to comment on social media as the angry mob and thugs made their way into the government building.  As rioters looted, smashed windows, and sprayed police officers with chemicals, people watching the chaos happen on social media were noticing the huge difference in response to the attack and last year’s Black Lives Matter protests.

Marches and protest against police brutality and the killings of unarmed Black people — like George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, were last summer met with an overflow of police and military presence, which often led to law enforcement officers using tear gas and physical violence against protesters.

Cardi B called the situation “ironic,” saying, “weren’t people just wild animals in the summer for demanding justice and now?”

She wrote in a follow-up tweet: “Protesters were getting called animals, looters, thugs for rioting and protesting over JUSTICE & EQUALITY by the same people that are out today doing the same shit over ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!”

50 Cent took to Instagram where he shared a photo of a fleet of military personnel at the US Capitol during the BLM protests during the summer. “I don’t have to say anything else,” he captioned.

Meek Mill described the scene as “two Americas.” “2 americas! They would of shot us down literally if this was blacks by the way,” he wrote.  ScHoolboy Q showed the same frustration in a tweet, saying, “If tHe police don’t start smoking tHese weirdos ima get Hot.”

Plies, however, saw the incident in a different light, expressing that this is the type of exposure America needs. “America is gettin’ to see who the real thugs are in this country.”

Is a $2,000 Stimulus Check Possible?

Is a $2,000 Stimulus Check Possible?

According to President-Elect Joe Biden, a third stimulus check might be coming if the democrats win Georgia. He says that if Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock beat the incumbent Kelly Loeffler and David Purdue, then “$2,000 checks will go out the door.” This one statement has the nation in a frenzy as it is the first time Biden publicly announces the possibility of a third stimulus check.

Biden’s opinion might be logical as Senate Republicans recently blocked a vote for the CASH act. The CASH act is a house-passed bill that would have increased the second checks from $600 to $2,000. It would have also increased the extra per-child second check from $600 to $2,000.

Senator Majority Leader Mitch McConnell states that the increase in the amount for the second wave stimulus checks was “socialism for the rich” because it would have enabled the wealthy to also receive the checks, not just those in need. Since Republicans make majority of the current senate, the vote didn’t pass and the CASH act was dismissed.

However, if Ossoff and Rev. Warnock gains seats at the senate, this means that Democrats will make majority of the senate, so the vote is more likely to pass, making the amount for the third check $2,000.
