“I knew I could put that Tupac tape in, and suddenly, things weren’t so bad.”
It’s been almost 19 years since Tupac Shakur was fatally shot in Las Vegas, Nevada, but the hip hop legend still lives on through his mother Afeni Shakur. So what better way to honor the slain rapper, then by writing a heartfelt letter to his mother. Grammy and Academy award winning artist, Eminem, wanted to thank Tupac for his success by writing a letter to Afeni. The letter is currently on display at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts in Stone Mountain, Ga. and according to E online, this is an authentic letter. Emenim writes in the letter:
“When I was feeling at my worst, I knew I could put that Tupac tape in, and suddenly things weren’t so bad. Thank you for giving us his spirit and yours! God bless you!”
Em also thanked Afeni and wrote:
“Thank you for being so kind to me. You are a true Queen, and I mean that in every sense of the word. I will never forget the opportunities you have given me.”
But what is even more impressing is the portrait he drew of Tupac. We appreciate both rappers for what they have brought to the Hip Hop world and we thank Tupac and we also thank you Eminem! Keep inspiring us!
