During the world’s mourning following DMX’s death last year, the globe experienced the loss of a major icon. The rapper was hospitalized and reportedly in a coma when fans worldwide prayed and sent well wishes to him. In the end, he died after an accident-induced overdose. It has been notable that tributes and support have continued to pour in for the late rapper’s fiancée Desiree Lindstrom. According to Lindstrom, ‘life changed so fast’ following the tragic death of the “Party Up (Up in Here)” rapper whose real name is Earl Simmons.

At present, Lindstrom is raising their five-year-old son, Exodus, alone. Recently, Lindstrom revealed some troubling news in an It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper interview. Despite continuing health problems, Exodus is doing well, overall, according to his mother.

“Exodus is stable, he’s been stable since I had him,” said Lindstrom. “He still has stage 3 kidney disease and I’ve just continued to keep his potassium down, he can’t eat high potassium foods. He goes to the doctor very often… He’s an amazing child.”

Upon posting this portion of her interview to her Instagram account, Desiree added a few remarks to it.

“Exodus is an amazing child! Blessed to be his mother through this journey,” she wrote in the caption. “March is the month that brings awareness to kidney disease. Take the time to learn about CKD. Knowledge is key. Thank you for the support @nationalkidneyfoundation and #columbiapresbyterianhospitalnyc. Prayers are much appreciated!”

DMX’s Fiance Still Misses Him

However, according to It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper podcast, some moments are more difficult for Desiree than others, particularly holidays. She describes those occasions as becoming “lonely,” as the rapper was “my family.” Lindstrom noted that she often leans on her son as he battles stage-three kidney disease. Also, he finds comfort in his positive outlook and strength.
