Monday, June 14th, Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre made headlines with news of their new magnate school project.

According to the press, Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre are partnering again. But, this time, they have their sights on opening a magnate school in South Los Angeles. While this is not their first educational project, it is the first of this nature.

This is Dre and Iovine’s first public-school project.

Bringing opportunities to kids in underdeveloped Black and Latino communities is at the heart of this project. In the words of Young, this is for,

“That guy that didn’t have an opportunity, that had to scratch and figure out things. we want to touch and give them this open door and these opportunities to be able to show what they can do.”

That is a project worth getting behind.

What exactly will the new school bring to the community?

According to sources, the school’s curriculum will focus on developing and nourishing potential students’ creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial spirit. A concrete name is not yet chosen. But the projections show a 2022 opening date.

Both Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine are behemoths.

Their contributions are nothing short of extraordinary. Dr. Dre, the Grammy award-winning founder of N.W.A and mega-producer has worked tirelessly. He has over three decades in the world of hip-hop. And he works equally as hard with his business ventures. He and Iovine, who has more than 50 years in the industry, are a dynamic duo.

In 2008 both Dre and Iovine went into business with the launch of Beats Electronics. Their success was so massive that it led to a 3 billion dollar buy-out from tech giant Apple. But their immense success did not end there. They also became partner philanthropists with both making considerable contributions to the development of an Arts Academy. There is simply no stopping them!

In conclusion, our sincere hope is that Iovine and Dre have unimaginable success with this new venture. Greatness is as greatness does. And great people help others cultivate their potential, and both Jimmy and Dre have that on lock.
