After two years of staying away from the social media platform, Dr. Dre dishes out a random “L” tweet in response to a post from Twitter user @bowyoade Sunday night (August 15).
The Twitter user praised an article about U.K. singer-songwriter VV Brown in the Metro. In the article, Brown discusses buying her first home and her new project, Say Something Collective, a forum that uses art and creativity to combat racism.
The original tweet was posted Aug. 3 by @bowyoade.
Why Was Dre Triggered?
Brown, whose highest charting song in the U.K. was “Shark” and peaked at number 39, wasn’t written by Dre or any of his affiliates. Since there is no connection between Dre and Brown, it begs the question: what about this tweet triggered Dre enough to respond?
Many Dre fans were confused by his first Twitter action in two years since leaving the platform. Some were even amused. Others were in awe and some just came for the ratio.
Dre Has Been Quiet for Other Reasons
The tweet comes as Dre is facing heat over his daughter Latanya Young’s claims that her famous father has left her homeless and destitute. Young, who revealed to the media that she has been living in her car has launched a GoFundMe to raise money for housing. She is currently a Doordash driver. She said. “I really don’t want to accept any handouts, but I appreciate anything that is offered. I have worked all my life and I know how to work for money but I’m in a difficult place right now.”
Young is hopeful that one day her father will reach back out to her and they will once again have a father-daughter relationship.
As for that “L,” we just have to keep guessing.
