Dreamville and Wilson partner to revive Chicago's Pro-Am Basketball League

Dreamville and Wilson Sporting Goods have partnered to revive the historic Chi-League

J.Cole’s Dreamville and Wilson Sporting Goods have partnered together to revive the historic Chi-League pro-am basketball tournament. As a result, the Chi-League pro-am basketball tournament will return to Chicago in August, as the Dreamville Chi-League Powered by Wilson. Wilson and Dreamville team came together to bring back one of basketball’s most storied competitions, inspired by a shared enthusiasm for the sport.

“Bringing the Chi-League back to our hometown is an incredible honor for Wilson and perfectly complements our partnerships with the NBA, WNBA and NCAA,” said Kevin Murphy, general manager of Wilson Team Sports.

The famed basketball league will return with an upgraded format after a four-year absence.

Also, for the first time in the tournament’s history, there will be a women’s bracket in addition to the men’s. Consequently, the men’s bracket features eight 10-player teams competing in a single-elimination competition, while the women’s bracket has four.

Dreamville’s involvement in the Chi-League is critical to the tournament’s resurgence. In fact, their involvement helps to boost player interest, develop custom team apparel, and create unique in-game experiences for fans. Furthermore, Dreamville is arranging live performances throughout August for the pro-am, which will be announced at a later date. During the tournament, Wilson and Dreamville will co-host youth clinics on Saturdays, and local black-owned businesses will run concessions

Back in May, J. Cole played three games with the Rwanda Patriots in the Basketball Africa League, pursuing his basketball aspirations. Coming off the bench, Cole ended with five points, three assists, and five rebounds in three games. As of this time, the Dreamville leader isn’t expected to compete in the competition.
