“Longtime” by Cilla Raie is her most vulnerable track yet. Heightened by a sultry UK garage/R&B instrumental that’s kissed by a guitar loop, the two-minute and twenty-eight-second song finds the R&B singer confidently opening up about her feelings toward a man she sees herself with. XVR Blck produced the beat.
Furthermore, Cilla Raie hints that her lover should make things official. She sings about waiting patiently to be hand and hand with him. Her love is something he can’t ignore. The Reconnected songstress assures him that their union will be worthwhile.
Although he’s hard to reach, she wants to meet him halfway. Without his presence, there seems to be something missing.
Using her dreamy vocals, she says:
“I’ve been waiting for you long time/To get it, make it like its all mine/Can’t nobody do you right,” and “I feel like I’m missing what I really need and/I want what I can’t have/But what you’re what I need.“
The music video, directed by Jay Parpworth, is set up in a living room with a groovy aesthetic. Throughout the visual, she dons several fashion statements. Subsequently, one scene sees Cilla Raie teleporting in the same room three times. Another one captures her speaking on a mint green telephone. As it closes, Cilla Rae strikes a pose as warm shades of orange, blue, and red touch the curtains and walls. All-in-all, the music video is reminiscent of pure old-school vibes.
