#FMSpotlight: Steven Malcolm – “Summertime (feat. Snoop Dogg and Jay-Way)”

 Steven Malcolm amps music enthusiasts up for the sunny season in “Summertime (feat. Snoop Dogg & Jay-Way). He tops his excitement for summer with vivid lyrics about activities that are guaranteed to enhance everyone’s experience in the warm weather. This single comes off his album Tree.

Tapping into a laid-back cadence, Snoop Dogg raps, “Rollerskates, water fights, flyin’ kites/Stayin’ on your California/That’s the life.”

Dogg follows this excerpt with bars about his ideal woman and how he intends on loving her through the 4-month season. 

Jay-Way executes the chorus with a smooth vocal range. During his time on the mic, he expresses his gratitude for having a prosperous life. The musician compares the days ahead to feeling like a party every day. This factor stems from the trio’s hard work and dedication. 

Steven Malcolm snaps with the first few bars, using a swift flow to get his point across. From a lyrical standpoint, the artist speaks about the fruit of his labor. Additionally, Malcolm shows love to his day ones, Snoop Dogg and Jay-Way. He raps about their consistency in the music scene and how they’ve become successful because of it.
