So as some of us know, Summer Jam is one of the biggest music events out there. People come from far and wide to come watch their favorite artists take the stage. It’s sponsored by one of New York City’s popular hip hop radio station, Hot 97. This year, it was unbelievably hot but the crowd was still massive.
The Festival Stage lit up the crowd before mainstage! First up was Phresher
Casanova, D.R.A.M….

Dave East
Young M.A
and also A Boogie with some members of HBTL
Mainstage came along soon after with some AMAZING performances that will definitely be talked about for days to come. The mainstage lineup kicked off with Jidenna who was rocking a noticeably more casual look for his performance
Followed by Desiigner
Joey Bada$$ hit the stage but also brought out hip hop veterans Mobb Deep
Next, my favorite part, the Dancehall artists came out. Bobby Konders and Jabba came on stage and brought Konshens, Charly Black, and special guest Shaggy!
Chris Brown performed and brought out DMX!
& Playboi Carti!
Trey Songz was also in the cut serenading the ladies as French Montana and co. gave an “Unforgettable” performance. Tory lanez, Meek Mill & co had the crowd going wild!
Just when you thought it couldn’t get more lit, Funk Flex came though with the hits and surprises!
Of course, Migos did it big for the culture
Major Moments
Now. There were 3 HUGE events that happened during Summer Jam which were absolutely the most memorable out of all these amazing acts. One was the huge Remy Ma Nicki Minaj diss as well as her special guests but you can read more on that here
The second was DJ Khaled’s set where he formally introduced his executive producer and son, Asahd Khaled. The young lion was raised up in the air to the crowd Simba style. It was a sight to see.
The third was a sweet moment where Hot 97 music director Karlie Hustle was proposed to by her long time boyfriend on stage. We wish them all the best!
