Recently, Ice Cube (O’Shea) took to the media, sharing tidbits of information on the status of Contract with Black America.
O’Shea made a recent appearance on the Breakfast Club for an interview. Most of O’Shea’s interview was directed towards his sports venture, Big3. Yet, he was sure to take time out to share information on the progress of his project “Contract with Black America.” Fast approaching is the anniversary of the day that Cube went public with his project. And now, there is reinvigorated interest in details of project status. Charlemagne Da God was sure to inquire.
And according to Cube (O’Shea), things are still in the works.
O’Shea has reportedly met with a member of Biden’s team a few times since the presentation of his plan. He went on to contend that diligent work is still being done. However, he is waiting until things are more concrete to speak on any details.
Fundamentally, the work is not yet complete.
These were his words.
“First half of the Contract with Black America, when the election was going on, was focused on the public sector. Now since the election, we’ve been focused on the private sector.”
That was enough to satisfy most listeners. In fact, he could not be clearer.
Cube’s Contract with America is Quite a Work!
Out of a need for change, Cube was willing to walk the walk. In 2020 Ice came out with an extensive contract to present to governmental officials. And he did so without apology, letting everyone know exactly how he felt.
“if Black America expects a real sweeping change in the area of racial equality, a major shift has to happen across the board. If not, racism will just be carried over from one part of society to another.
O’Shea was answering the call to be the light he wanted to see in the world.
His contract is a working document.
Ice consistently puts in the efforts to adapt and meet the ever-evolving needs of the African American community. The addition of new amendments evidences this. Without a doubt, Cube is an excellent model of what it means to be an example. O’Shea leads with his actions as well as his words.
In conclusion, no one knows what will come of this contract. Perhaps the resulting factor will be broad sweeping change. Or, we may only be taking a few tiny steps forward. But none of that matters. Right now, what matters is that as a nation, we will be progressing in the right direction. We can thank O’Shea for laying some of the groundwork for more incredible things to take effect. And that is ground-breaking.
