Danny Brown and JPEGMAFIA may have agreed to a joint tape. Yesterday, in the early morning, JPEGMAFIA shared on Twitter, “I wanna do a tape with [Danny Brown].” Danny retweeted the following early morning and proclaimed, “Let’s go!!!!”
In 2019, JPEGMAFIA and other artists joined Brown on ‘Negro Spiritual,’ a single off his album, U Know What I’m Sayin?
Danny Brown on How To Build A Relationship
In March 2020, JPEGMAFIA also made a documentary about Danny Brown. The short movie is titled How To Build A Relationship 1: Part 1.
In the documentary, artists find themselves in different locations and talk. The documentary features footage of Denzel Curry recording in the studio.
Topics artists discuss include music, politics, and life in general. Before the 2020 election, JPEGMAFIA discussed the parties’ chances to win the election and his continuous growing distrust of mass media.
“Trump’s not playing by no playbook, and the Democrats are… that’s why they’re gonna lose,” JPEGMAFIA claimed through an x-ray filter. “And he’s just winning and winning, and getting acquitted! He’s not losing. When I watch Jimmy Kimmel and shit, I’m like ‘yo, no one believes y’all no more. Him even being here is defiance of what y’all said could happen ‘cuz y’all said that couldn’t happen. And he’s here, and he’s gonna win again, and there’s just still n*ggas that making jokes. it’s just not funny anymore.”
JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown also talked about Danny’s recording process of U Know What I’m Sayin?. Apparently, Danny tried “to drop an album as quick as [he] ever did.”
Both artists have established cooperation, and their music styles fit organically within each other. Based on previous work, chances of the album coming out are high too. Hopefully, the two tweets will eventually grow into a tape with two creative flows.
