Eminem took the hip hop world by storm in 2020 with his last release, Music to Be Murdered By, and a surprise release of deluxe Music to Be Murdered By Side B. Now it seems Eminem is preparing new music,  and could have an album on the way. According to an Eminem-focused Reddit account, Em’s newest offering might actually be an LP. While nothing is confirmed yet, fans speculate that the project may be Marshall Mathers LP III. Whatever the case, the new project will drop on October 1.

Eminem’s Sequel?

Eminem’s frequent collaborator, Fredwreck, recently posted an image of the rapper’s childhood home on his Instagram story. If the shot looks familiar, thats because it’s the cover artwork for the second, and most recent, installment of Em’s Marshall Mathers series. Fredwreck also posted a picture of a building with the address number 1001 on his IG Story, according to the Eminem Reddit.

Others speculated that Eminem could be dropping new music in line with the premiere of Venom sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which drops October 1st. Em penned a titular track for the first Venom movie, which became a hit on TikTok and appeared on his Kamikaze album. The sequels original release date was on Oct. 15, but the date recently changed with no apparent explanation.

Hints from Collaborators

Rumors only increased when rapper Mozzy’s manager, DaveO, tweeted that the Sacramento artist had been in the studio with Eminem and Polo G. Mozzy dropped his album, Untreated Trauma, on Sept. 17, and the teased collab doesn’t appear on the release.

Frequet Eminem collaborator Skylar Grey, who features on his smash hit “Love the Way You Lie,” also hinted at something new coming on October 1st. 1 via Instagram on Monday.

Grey captioned an image of herself and said, “This month has been hellish… but I see the light at the end… can’t wait for October 1st… mark your calendar.

Another Reddit post indicated that there will be an Aftermath Records takeover, featuring albums from Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre and Eminem, in the fourth quarter of the year. The beginning of the fourth quarter? October 1st.

The album talk remains speculation, and what seems to be a project may actually be nothing at all. But as fans connect the dots, the chatter is growing along with the hype. Either way, Em devotees will have to wait until next Friday’s rumored release date for the full story.
