J. Cole’s opinions show he’s a supporter of Kaepernick. However, today, the artist again made headlines defending Kaepernick’s right to return to his favorite sport.
J. Cole’s Show of Support
A month ago, Cole had some words for Superbowl supporters. FM Hip Hop Covered J Cole’s message to the masses, in which he reminded them of Kaepernick’s sacrifice. However, today he’s once again standing in the gap.
J. Cole’s Message to the Naysayers
Some are adamant that Kaepernick doesn’t have what it takes to step back on the field. The “Nobody’s Perfect” performer strongly disagrees, and he wasn’t backing down.
“Respectfully lil bro, how could you know what he has in him and what he doesn’t. Respectfully, you’re 100% right about throwing against the wind and to ghost db’s. But always remember, he’s been doing that every day for 5 years, when the entire world was saying he had zero shot of ever playing again.”
In addition, the debate went on for a while. However, he said what he said and meant every word.
What’s the Rationale
Furthermore, why would the “Off-Season” artist be so adamant about standing in Kapernick’s defense? Perhaps he sees in Colin a kindred spirit. Also, much like Kaepernick, Cole is from a multiethnic background. J. Cole also had a passion for sports as a young kid. However, music and basketball were J Cole’s passions, according to a source. Kaepernick’s passions were football, basketball, and baseball.
One could reason it is Kaepernick’s indomitable spirit that draws Cole in. Kaepernick’s passion is undeniable. Or it could be J Cole’s desire to see the right thing triumph. It is recorded that Jermaine’s upbringing made him totally against racism.
All In
The performer of The Sideline Story didn’t only defend Kapernick against social media naysayers; he sent a message to some NFL teams and industry giants. He wants them to see Kapernick is hungry and putting in the work. As a result, give him a chance.
In conclusion, despite what makes him stand in Kaepernick’s corner, it is admirable. Of course, knowing there is somebody out there who has your back is amazing. Especially with hope, someone will get the message. However, one thing is sure; Cole is not likely to stop until something happens.
