Tidal is the new wave hitting the music streaming business and is making headlines since Jay Z bought the company for $56 million. A-list celebrities attended the Tidal event announcing today at Skylight at Moynihan Station in Manhattan . The music industry’s top artists such as Beyonce, Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Jack White’s Third Man Records, Rihanna, Jason Aldean, Madonna, Calvin Harris, Arcade Fire, Coldplay, Daft Punk, deadmau5 and Nicki Minaj are among those who have co-ownership with the company. Tidal will be the first ever artist owned music streaming company. It is a membership-based service that will provide music and exclusive video content that users can stream on any device or listen to online, similar to competitor Spotify.
