Rapper and pseudo thought leader Kanye West might be in some hot water with the government after several election fraud allegations surface.

According to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Kanye’s presidential campaign violated several fundraising rules by accepting illegal donations during his 2020 cycle. In a published report, the Chicago native has been accused of accepting minors’ donations and possible contributions from foreign nationals. False names using addresses linked to drop-shipping sites in the US were found on his donor’s list as well.

It is illegal to take donations from individuals younger than 18 intentionally. One of Ye’s campaign strategies was to target teens, selling campaign merchandise on his site. Some of these items included $40 hats and a $200 Kanye 2020 Vision hat/hoodie bundle.

Several teenagers have confirmed they have purchased items from Kanye’s campaign sites. It is reported that supporters under 18 accounted for more than 1,200 of the alleged 3,161 donations to West’s campaign. It racked up a total of $349,160, with $26,540 off that amount coming in 2021.

It was previously reported that Kanye spent more than $12 million of his own money to finance his failed presidential campaign. This amount does not include the $2 million collected from outside donors.
